Neelam Singh is a Senior Associate with WRI’s Major Emerging Economies Team. She is currently working on the Measurement and Performance Tracking (MAPT) project, specifically on capacity building of businesses in developing countries on greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and reporting in countries such as India and South Africa. In the past, she has worked with the GHG Protocol team on promoting best GHG emissions accounting and reporting practices in developing countries, focusing on China and India. She is also involved in research on facility level reporting systems, and on understanding linkages between corporate/facility and national inventory systems.

She is also working on a multi-partner project in two Indian states to reduce the electricity demand supply gap by adopting a comprehensive approach to electricity planning and reducing barriers to greater contribution of EE and RE in the energy mix, in a transparent and inclusive manner.Prior to joining WRI, Neelam worked with Potomac-Hudson Engineering (PHE), a private environmental consulting firm. Neelam also spent over four years as a research associate with the New Delhi-based Centre for Science and Environment’s (CSE) climate change campaign and has worked as a short-term consultant with the World Bank. Neelam has an undergraduate degree in Physics from Delhi University and a Master’s degree in International Development Studies with a specialization in Environment Studies from Ohio University.
