Actions and Market Instruments Request for Information Feedback Summary  

GHG Protocol released a summary of stakeholder feedback that was received via its Actions and Market Instruments (AMI) Request for Information. The feedback shows significant backing for the newly proposed multi-statement reporting structure.  
 
This feedback will inform the ongoing work of the AMI Technical Working Group and will be incorporated into a draft consolidated Corporate Standard slated for public consultation in Quarter 2 2027.

Announcing Suzanne Greene as Vice-Chair of the Independent Standards Board

Greenhouse Gas Protocol is delighted to announce Suzanne Greene as the new Vice-Chair of its Independent Standards Board (ISB). As Vice-Chair, Suzanne works closely with the Independent Standards Board Chair Alex Bassen to advance the work of the ISB and to support the progression of standards development and revision activities.

GHG Protocol at New York Climate Week

The GHG Protocol team has had a productive week at New York Climate Week, with the chance to engage across and beyond the standard-setting ecosystem. Some key themes we saw emerge throughout the week: 

➡️ Greater harmonization across the standard-setting ecosystem, showcasing the progress GHG Protocol has made through its partnership with ISO 

➡️ The significant contribution of the #COPActionAgenda to this effort, building momentum towards COP31 Türkiye  

➡️ Opportunities ahead and the practical challenges organizations face as standards, regulation and markets evolve

GHG Protocol at Congresso Sustentável 2026

In August, GHG Protocol CEO Tim Mohin traveled to Rio Brazil to participate in Conselho Empresarial Brasileiro para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável’s Congresso Sustentável (Sustainable Congress) event as a part of Rio Climate Week. Tim highlighted the following key points in his remarks:

➡️ Brazil has a strategic opportunity to build a more competitive, resilient and low-carbon economy 

➡️ Transparency and high-quality emissions data are increasingly essential

GHG Protocol Responds to Forest Carbon Accounting News Articles

Recent news articles have raised concerns about the scientific basis of potential forest carbon accounting approaches and whether industry interests have unduly influenced their development. These questions deserve a clear explanation of where the process stands, how decisions are made and what happens next. Importantly, no forest carbon accounting (FCA) approach has been selected by Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
