New Blog Post: Scope 2 Technical Working Group Progress Update
The Scope 2 Technical Working Group is making key strides in updating the 2015 Scope 2 Guidance to reflect today’s evolving greenhouse gas reporting landscape. The TWG revision proposal includes a clearer, more consistent electricity emissions accounting approach with a new two-part framework that distinguishes emissions from what companies consume (inventory) from the broader emissions impact they enable (grid decarbonization). Read the update here.

GHG Protocol at Science and Policy Forum
Matt Ramlow, GHG Protocol’s Land Sector and Removals team lead, attended the Regenerative Agriculture Science and Policy Forum in Boston (June 10–12), hosted by Indigo Ag and the Harvard Data Science Initiative. There, the Land Sector and Removals team co-organized a workshop focusing on outstanding scope 3 accounting challenges in agriculture. Participants from industry, academia and civil society discussed best practices for modeling approaches and uncertainty, allocating scope 3 emissions across crop rotations and managing carbon stock losses or reversals. The workshop group plans to publish the outcomes as additional guidance to help companies implement the Land Sector and Removals Standard and Guidance once it is published.
