WRI to lead workshop on "Best Practices for Setting and Achieving Science-Based Targets" at Climate Leadership Conference, March 1 in Chicago

Join us March 1-3 in Chicago to connect with the nation’s leaders on climate at the sixth annual Climate Leadership Conference (CLC). The CLC convenes around U.S. EPA’s prestigious Climate Leadership Awards, and brings climate, energy and sustainability professionals together to address climate change through policy, innovation and business solutions.

Stakeholder Dialogue on Corporate GHG Accounting in India

The Energy and Resources Institute – Business Council for Sustainable Development (TERI-BCSD), The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), and the World Resources Institute (WRI) organized a stakeholder dialogue on Corporate GHG Accounting in India on February 2nd, 2011. The event was held on the sidelines of the World CEO Forum 2011 and was the first formal consultation of a project between TERI and WRI. The partnership aims to build capacity on corporate GHG accounting and gain an appreciation of the necessary steps required for developing a national GHG program.

The U.S. Public Sector Works with GHG Protcol to Develop a New Protocol

Public sector organizations are amongst the most important sources of GHG emissions worldwide. Building off 10 years of success in working with the corporate sector, WRI is now developing new accounting guidance for government operations - the GHG Protocol Public Sector Protocol (U.S.). The Protocol is intended as a flexible management tool enabling government agencies of all types to meet multiple reporting objectives.

Survey on Calculation Tools

The GHG Protocol aims to ensure wide and effective use of its standards and support companies in the completion of accurate, relevant, complete, consistent and transparent GHG inventories. But the landscape for GHG calculation and verification procedures has been evolving quickly, prompting the need for a public survey to help identify the calculation priorities of our users, along with their perspectives on GHG inventory verification and training in accounting.
